in the start menu search bar, type

    power options

open power options and from the menu on the left, click on "change when the computer sleeps"

you can adjust settings here - on ac power (plugged in) set it to never; on battery power set it to a longer time then save changes

first I'd go to the control panel found in the windows start menu on the far left bottom of your screen, once you fund control panel open it and find mobile PC, then chose battery settings...look through all the setting that they list and make sure something in there isn't set to turn the computer off.
