Should the Wizards get a new GM?

I don't think Eddie Jordan should have been fired given the team's injuries, but it seems that Grunfeld has fallen in love with Butler, Jamison, and Arenas to the point where he can't see them leave for any reason. Not that I want the players out, but if a team's core is injured for 2 seasons, that's what the team is more likely than not. I'm okay with him staying or going, but if he stays, Grunfeld has gotta make an aggressive move to make the team better. This year's trade for Crittenton hasn't shown dividends yet.

If Ernie is gone after this year, perhaps we should try to make a bid to steal Mitch Kupchak of the Lakers. He should be pretty motivated to come back to DC since he was drafted by the Bullets, and played for us, and helped win an NBA championship here too as a player. Right now, I don't know if anyone in Washington's basketball operations area is even thinking about making a move (either now or during the draft period) to get this team better, since it looks like the consensus is that if Gilbert is healthy, we will win the Eastern Conference if not win it all. That's not impossible, but that is still a big stretch.

If Grunfeld is axed, since Tapscott is 99% likely not to be coach next year,

Update:

If Grunfeld is axed, since Tapscott is 99% likely not to be coach next year, I hope they get a stud in. If no moves are made by draft season, either Tapscott is the permanent head coach, or we'll see a duel between Randy Ayers and Wes Unseld, Jr. being head coach. I think we can do better than those two, even though I know Unseld hasn't been a head coach, yet.

Update 2:

Still no one suggests a new GM like Kupchak, one of the Wizards' best players of the 70's?

I think so. The reason he hasn't gotten the axe yet is because of the injuries. There is still the feeling that the team can work but hasn't gotten the chance yet (which I don't believe). He will go soon. They are a worse team without Arenas but they aren't the worst in the East, by far. He should have gone a long time ago.

  • It may be a good change of culture because the franchise has so many needs for a change.

They threw way too much money at "Hibachi" who has barely played in 2 seasons, bad move.

However, they traded Kwame Brown and parts for Caron Butler years back and Antawn Jamison, even though they traded Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse for him, is a franchise guy who can do it all.

However, he is aging and Butler can only take it so long, especially with a talented C in Brendan Haywood out.

They need a serious overall franchise analyzation and decide a direction...fast.

nicely while became into the final time this entire team became into healthful? THe final i bear in mind them having butler, arenas, and jamison all on the comparable time became into in like '06. So i think of perhaps there clocks have been up, if this team couldve all been healthful at as quickly as and didnt could play the cavs interior the playoffs.( sorry i introduced that up yet im a cavs fan) Then those adult men wouldve long gone particularly a great way. yet they have been all getting older and time wasing freezing, so perhaps it became into curious with reference to the greater effective. i like the deal he made with butler cas howards particularly solid, and is youthful, however the jamison one became into terrible! we probable wouldve given u jj hickson, or danny green certainly one of the two. ANd this grunfield guy in basic terms took Z, and the thirtieth p.c.. of the draft.?? not solid, an all-megastar for a typical around thirtieth draft p.c..? idk, in the event that they wouldve have been given hickson identity call it a competent deal. Cas this adult men gonna be an all-megastar for a protracted time. yet hi wenever arenas gets back, theyll have him, howard, and a pair of first around selections. so perhaps in 3 years or so? take care.
