anybody out there had a knee replacement?

Before I got arthritis, I enjoyed an active lifestyle that included swimming, walking, bicycling.. But when I started getting arthritis, everyday life became difficult. The more I walked the worse it [the arthritis pain] got, the pain was like a knife twisting inside. Sometimes my knee would give out, it just wouldn't support me. Then there was the sharp pain. My Grandma did recently. It went okay and was a bit painful at first. She's using a walking stick now but it should get much better so I guess its a success story!

Only downside is no more impact sports ;)
