Sinusoidal Wave Question?

Given the sinusoidal wave shown below. Find the amplitude, peak-to-peak value,

period, frequency and phase of the waveform and then use these in an expression

that fully describes the waveform.

    The amplitude is 3V.

    The peak-to-peak value is 6V.

    The period (T) is approximately 4ms

    The frequency is 1/T = 1/.004 = 250Hz

    The phase is a little more difficult. I'd estimate that the first zero-crossing is about 0.3ms. To calculate the phase offset:

    φ = (0.3/4.0)*360° = 27°

    Since this is approximately a sine wave, but at t=0 the value is negative, the phase is also negative, so:

    φ = -27° = -27*pi/180 = -.471radian

    V = 3*Sin(2*pi*250*t - .471)

    Take a better Digital oscilloscope with all the digital on-screen readout windows available which tells you all that and more - RMS, P-P, Period (if more than two cycles on the screen), Frequency, FFT harmonic content, Delta time measurements using cursors etc - everything about a waveform.

    However - a Phase measurement requires 2 (two) wave forms.... measuring the phase difference between the reference (1st trace) and the second wave form on the 2nd trace.

    That's how I go about it.

    for the phase you must mesure precisely but it must be around

    p = 0.3 ms

    so the waveform expression is f(x) = A sin(2Pi.f.x - p)
