Why are all the mattress sales on Presidents Day and not Valentine's Day?

It seems like a no-brainer, ya know?

Because most people have off on that day and can get out and shop...however this year Valentine's Day will be on Saturday so...I see what you mean !

It's because who wants to move a mattress on valentines day? At least with presidents day you know that everyone will have the day off every year. Valentine's day could fall on a Wednesday and no one would take off work to get a mattress, unless it was completely free!

It's because a popular slogan for really old bed n breakfasts on the east coast would use "George Washington slept here". It became so common that people strarted associating the name with sleeping. At some point a saavy bed salesman connected the 2 and then was copied n the rest is history!

Nah, they want you to use up your matress on V-Day so you need a new one on P-Day.

Besides, doing it everywhere else on V-day is more fun!!!
