I cook with soy milk about once a week. I usually make a white sauce for pasta (make sure you use unsweetened soy milk unless you're making a dessert like baked rice). Silk soy milk's own web site has a link about cooking with it, so it must be OK. Just be sure not to overheat and kill all the nutrients! And soy lattes are even better than ones made with milk, so maybe the flavor of soy milk does improve with heat.

Source(s): Have been a vegan for about three years now; I cook for a large family and recommend the web site vegweb.com.

I WUV SOY MILK! Anyone who says it's gross has obviously never tasted Silk Vanilla... And no, I've never heated it up before, but just because you said that I'm going to!

I don't use silk soy milk (not too sure what it is), but I heat my soy milk every morning. It works fine but the taste really changes. It tastes nicer I think.

For some reason it doesn't work with instant porridge, just a small fact I found out.

Yes you sure can. I use soy milk for cooking and as a creamer in coffee sometimes. You can even make sour (soy) milk by adding lemon juice to it.

I love soymilk, it is so good, I love the chocolate silk soymilk. It's really good with organic surgar cookies *yum* Its a great for baking, and eating cereal, and making macroni and cheese!!

Yep. Sometimes I microwave it for a couple of minutes to make hot chocolate. It tastes fine, and I'm still alive, so yes it's ok to heat it. :)

I'm pretty sure that it's fine. I've cooked with it the same way you can cook with milk. I've also added cocoa and popped it into the microwave and made some good hot cocoa and it tasted just fine. Great, in fact!

Sure and just like regular milk it can scald so be sure to keep an eye so it doesn't boil over.
