Van Halen or Jimi Hendrix ?

i would say hendrix. Eddie is a legend in my book but hendrix is GOD

Definitely Jimi Hendrix. He is the greatest guitarist of all time. And there are some guitarists that are good, but, Jimi Hendrix is number one.

hendrix was more revolutionary for his time, no doubt about it. eddie also was a revolutionary, but not as much. eddie has more playing talent and skill, but Jimi was more innovative.

unfortunately, most people cannot look at it objectively. musicians who kill themselves ultimately are made out to be bigger and better than they actually were.

jimi was good, but i can breeze through his entire catalog. eddie's stuff took me much much longer to master.

keep in mind, eddie started a whole new generation of shredders who have even surpassed him, i.e. john petrucci, paul gilbert, just to name a few.
