Is it possible that we could make such bad noises during sleep that we wake up thinking a monster's there?

I wierd myself out a lot.

    It's possible...... our vocal cords make horrible noises in sleep sometimes

    Yeah, i mean sometimes i bang my arm or something on my bedside table and wake-up, or sometimes think someones trying to smother me but then wake up to find that my duvet is on my face restricting me from breathing.
