Government scamming college studentS?
I applied for an accounting class. I only went once and when I did attend, I had no clue what was going on and the teacher was going through the material very fast. She was just reading her examples off a piece of paper which was really bad so I decided to remove that class. I go the the registrar's office and he says that I only get a 25% refund out of the 600+ dollars that I paid for the class. So they basically take 450 dollars out of my pockets for a class that I only attended once. Does that make sense to you guys? Well I think it's just a big scam and the system should be fixed.
Oh and it's a lose lose situation for me. if I did stay in the class, chances are that I would fail the class and have a bad grade on my transcript.

I agree it is a big scam. I am sorry to hear that this happened to you. It is not the government who is scammed you, it is the school. Some schools dont financially penalize you not until you have attended week 2. Every school have different reimbursement policies. That is why I always test a class first before i signed up for it. I would hate to have a mumbler for a teacher.

That's not the government's fault, it's the school. Not all schools are like that though. My schools gives 100% refund if you drop during the first 2 weeks of classes. After that it gives you a 50% refund for 2 weeks and then 25% refund for two weeks.

Hate to sound heartless - yet all and sundry has a tragic tale - practise is there in case you like it. i understand which you are going to be able to desire to make money and help human beings yet no longer something stops you from taking night courses, correspondence courses or maybe the unusual day time course. sure, you will no longer get your degree in 3 years yet you will get your degree finally and that's nicely worth it. With historic previous you are going to be able to desire to probable get a BA - coach or admin artwork - technology - plenty and many judgements. college degree is dazzling - you will in no way sense sorry approximately it - you are going to be able to as nicely decide for a grasp's degree - stable success.

That's the school, not the government. My school would have refunded you any fees that you plaid outside of your regular tuition
