How do I enable dual boot with Windows XP and Windows Vista?

In order for me to have a dual boot with Windows XP Professional and Windows Vista, lets say Home Basic or Ultimate....do I need the upgrade version of Windows Vista?? Because there is the upgrade version and the full version. I normally use Windows XP Professional.

No. All you have to do is create a new partition on your hard drive and install Vista into that new partition. If you search on google "how to make a new partition in XP" you should get a good tutorial.

This is assuming you already purchased Vista and are ready to install. If you haven't purchased it yet, get the full version.

verify to work out if there isn't the thank you to burn a Vista restoration disk from the laptop. maximum grant this as a backup. without this and the drivers how would you recover from a not common disk failure? notwithstanding that's extra undemanding to load XP first, then Vista as Vista is prepared to play nicely with others. XP isn't. My laptop....after various artwork...boots Ubuntu, Vista domicile top rate and XP professional. I infrequently use Vista nevertheless.

You either have to have your hard drive partitioned so that it has more than one "drive" on it or..... you can do it with separate hard drives.

You just have to install Vista on the 2nd drive wether it's a separate partition or a separate hard drive.

Then you need to select the boot order in your BIOS.

    Hope this helps.
