I'm only in 8th grade now but it seems like a really fun idea and i'm not sure if i should take french or spanish in high school so this might impact my decision.

I'm in 10th grade, but i have a cousin who went to study abroad dancing. If you are interested in Ballet, it is important that you get the basics down now. Spain is a beautiful country, but if your interested in Ballet, then France is your best bet. The honest truth is that the Ballet capital in the world is Russia, so maybe you could get rosetta stone and study Russian on your own? Good luck with your dance dreams, don't give up just yet!

Well every high school is different so I can only answer based off of what we had to do. We had try-outs for a whole week. In that week, we learned 3 short routines. One pom, one jazz, and one hip hop. On the last day we had to preform the routines in a small group. Throughout the week, we did leaps and turns. To make our dance team, they required you to be able to do a double turn (although they preferred triples) and 6 straight leg turns in second. Some of the leaps we did are regular, side, switch/scissor, turning, turning side, and back leaps. That was all we had to do for our try-outs. Here are a few tips: *Make sure to have a huge smile and show personality. *Make sure in pom especially, that you are super tight and sharp in your movements. *Have confidence! If you can't do something, try your best anyway. *Count your music. *Pointe your toes. *Spot your turns. *And no matter what, have fun! I hope this helps! Good Luck! :)

out of france or spain, i would go to france because basically all of the terms are french.
you can try to go to russia, it depends if you studied russian ballet, because it is very different from other types of ballet, it might be fun.
for example, in their attitudes, they reach for a high toe, which is hard for some people, or some people just do it wrong
