indiana sex offender probation transferred to illinois?
My nephew will get out of a Indiana prison in 2010. He wants to transfer his probation to Illinois. He will have better support systems for employment and better environment. Will they let him go to illinois with no place to live except the transitional housing (if they have room at the time).

No.
Must have a base housing unit to track back too. (like your house would be a nice place?)
All offenders, will have to register, no matter what state they reside in, or transfer too.

If I had my way sex offenders would receive automatic life sentences with no parole, for the pain they put their victim's through, and the trauma that the victim has to live through for the rest of their lives.
But, I see no problem transferring to Illinois, Indiana will get to take a sex offender off their national numbers.
Though he will still have to register with the authorities, and comply with the conditions of his parole, he should tell his counselor if his intentions so that they could get the process started.
Just because he wants to move to Illinois, that doesn't mean that they will allow to to move to their state.
If either state objects, then he stays in Indiana.

I would alert the local authorities in that city when this is happening. They may make the guy move out while the child is there. Also let your local authorities know so it is on record that you have objected, they could always say you knew and did nothing. Find out the laws in Colorado for sex offenders. You know for sure he has been convicted, right? You need to take action though, you do not want your stepson the lead story on the 6o'clock news.

NO freaken way!!! Transitional housing? No!! Transitional housing is for families, families who would be otherwise homeless. Not for losers with a sexual crime record. People in illinois don't want sexual offenders. Screw him let him live on the street or stay in jail!!!

Hopefully they give him the sleepy weepy shot if you catch my drift.
