my yahoo! messenger is in german?

i cannot for the life of me figure out how to convert the settings to english. its just messenger. everything else on yahoo!, internet and computer is in english. how can i change the language on my yahoo! messenger?

    change the region/location. or else, uninstall that messenger and install the English version

    *during the installation of the messenger, you will be asked what language do you want so prefer to use English (US).

    I have already done that why is it still in german?
