AJ became infatuated with Jacob Hester and the draft point system made giving away this years 2nd round pick worth the spots to get Hester at. tsk tsk tsk we needed that now AJ has to trade down or into the 2nd which he will probably do.
Source(s): Tolbert came in as a UDFA and beat out Hester for the FB spot and did well in preseason. Sucked in the season and got injured so Hester played and did pretty well although I think he should be our 3rd down back. Funny thing is Slaton was still there. Argh. - 1 decade ago
In the 2008 Draft, New England traded the first of its third-round selections (69th overall) to San Diego for San Diego's fifth-round selection (160th overall) and their second-round selection in 2009.
With New England's 3rd round pick San Diego took Jacob Hester.
