Do you think fertility doctors should abide by a code of ethics, as in the case of the octo-mom?

Clearly she is in no position to raise 14 kids (8 preemies) alone!

I believe that if you are going to undergo fertility treatments you should be evaluated to see if you can properly care for the child/children.

    I totally agree!

If a millionaire wants to be implanted with 6 eggs, then fine go for it, but for someone that couldn't even provide support for her first 6 children should have never been implanted with even 1 egg!

Us working americans are going to be supporting all those poor babies! We should have all received a congratulations card in the mail!

You think I can claim them on my taxes?

  • Yes, absolutely. I cannot see any possible way for that women to successfully raise 14 children all on her own. She doesn't even have a job! I think she should have had her mental health evaluated. It sounds to me like something's not right. It's similar behavior to when people become hoarders and keep way too many animals in their house than they could possibly care for. I think the doctor acted irresponsibly.

I think you ought to have to be married to be eligible for fertility drugs. The doctors really messed up by giving octo-mom the treatments.

  • Absolutely!! It really doesn't matter if you are single, married, rich, poor. . .NO ONE can handle the needs (and I mean emotional, physical, financial, etc.) of 14 kids. She is being so selfish. She has been talking about how SHE wanted/needed a big family and has never talked about the kids' needs.

  • If doctors have the right to refuse to tie tubes or give vascectomies to people that they feel are "too young" or will change their minds later on, they should have the same right (and obligation) to refuse to implant new babies into women that can't care for them.

Yes, they should. A single mom with 6 kids and no job should not of had anymore implanted. That was wrong.

Miss vamp I'm a single mother and my son is no failure! how dare you assume all single parents are unfit to be parents!

As for the question yes, questions should have been asked in that particular case as it is an extreme one but why stop there why not evaluate the whole world to see if they are fit to be parents, you need to have a balanced approach to it.

i agree! plus she is going to school and not working? all because she was an only child and wanted a big family..

  • Yes exactly. It has to be done, and hope it will be soon. The proof is her website asking for money.
