Can I have PCOS?? please read?
I am 18 years old and I have problems with facial hair, as well as body hair. However, I am not over weight. (I'm almost 5'1 and I weight like 108.) My periods were never irregular until my doctor told me to take a medication to control the hair growth. I stopped taking the med cuz it was making me sick and my periods were getting way shorter and irregular, and now they are back on track.
Could I have it? What other ways can I get tested?
Thanks for reading.

It is possible, one of the best tests is an ultrasound of your ovaries to check for the "ring of pearls" that results from PCOS. A blood test can rule out other possibilities like thyroid as well as check for insulin resistance. Talking with your female family members to see if they show signs of PCOS is also a great way to find out if you are at risk. Do some more research and see if you have other symptoms.

I know a friend who had a thyroid problem. She suddenly started having irregular periods too.
