There are lots of bugs in SC. Chiggers (might not be considered bugs), flees, wasps, beetles, dragon flies, butter flies, spiders (might not be considered bugs), bees, ants. There are way too many to list specifically. What about just a few dragon flies to give you an idea: Swamp Darner, Regal Darner, Common Green Darner, Gray Petaltail

It sounds greater like a sting than a chunk to me, yet i'm with Emily in that it sounds like an allergic reaction. the classic therapy could be cool, moist cloths on the bump, an antihistamine like Benadryl to knock the reaction down, and a visit to the wellbeing facility if it gets worse. Deerfly/Greenhead/Horsefly bites may be nasty, besides the fact that they do no longer usually get as undesirable as that sounds. comparable for wasp/yellowjacket stings. In any journey, do no longer panic - it is going to in all possibility be positive in an afternoon or so!

I live in NC and I lived in SC for two years. Mosquitos and "palmetto bugs". Mosquitos are self explanatory. Palmetto bugs are basically HUGE flying roaches. They will come into your house when it rains or if your house is damp etc. They love moisture and wet areas. I hate them!!!
