Are there tattoo places in WA State that allow 16 year old's to get one with parental consent?
I'm gonna be turning 16 and my mom said she'd let me get a small meaningful tattoo. I assumed I could get one at 16 with parental consent until my dad started calling a couple of places that said the state law said for you to be 18 years old to be able to get a tattoo. So, I'm just curious if there are ANY places in Washington State where I could get my tattoo at?

In response to quizzled... I am a licensed tattoo artist in the State of Illinois and I don't know what shops you hang around, but I can assure you that tattooing a minor with OR without parental consent IS NOT allowed in Illinois, nor has it ever been. Matter of fact, Illinois was the only state in the entire union where you had to be 21 years old to get tattooed, as opposed to the age of 18, like it is in most other states, up until about 4 years ago. They definitely do not tolerate underage tattooing. Know your facts before you spread misinformation.

If its state law the short answer is no. There is nowhere you can get it done 'LEGALLY' How far are you from OR? Maybe their laws are different there.
