I was 18 when I saw Ramo Stott in a USAC race, but I wasn't really aware of him until much later. He was big in ARCA and USAC. He did finish second at Talladega in NASCAR and sat on the pole at the Daytona 500 in 1976 when Foyt was penalized for having an illegal engine.

Yep, I'm old enough I remember the #7 Plymouth with that big wing on the back of it. He was never that successful. Its Stott not Scott. I think I remember him in ARCA alittle more than Nascar.

Ramo Stott, not Scott..
Famous end over at Daytona..
Got the pole for the Daytona 500 when the front row
qualifiers (DW, and AJ Foyt) were disqualified for using
NOx (nitrous oxide) for their qualifying runs..
Rumor has it that AJ had it in his shocks, and DW had it in his fire extinguisher... Just a rumor.. lol
