How long can i keep my retainer out?

I just got my retainer yesterday but I have an event coming up on the weekend I do not want to wear my retainer to and I am scared of losing it. So I want to leave it home for the night, but the event is long it will be 6 or 7 hours. Will my teeth shift in that time?

Also, I know you aren't supposed to eat with it in but can you drink? Alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks?

YOu can deffinately drink anything with your retainer in.

    And also,

When I got my braces off, I didn't get my retainer till the next day, SO i slept the night without braces or a retainer in.. I was worried my teeth would moove.. Luckily they didn't.

When I get my retainer the next day, my dentist said TO MAKE sure I work it night and day!

I didn't though. But I wear it EVERY night, and I Only wore it in the day time for the first few days.

But I think you'll be alright without it if it's only 6-7 hours.. If it were longer though, I suggest you bring it along with you and wear it for a bit just to make sure your teeth dont move. Because they can actually moove very quickly.. but I think you should be alright for a few hours.

I have retainers and I've only had them for a few months. I leave mine out no longer than a day, your teeth won't move a lot but it will feel weird putting them back in. But it's okay after a while they'll feel completely normal again. So yes you can leave them out for a day. I drink stuff all the time with my retainers in, but i don't ever drink any alcohol.

placed on them as long as you could. I had braces for years and by no potential wore my retainers and my tooth have shifted a lot I had to get new retainers to % up the gaps. I so desire i had merely worn my retainers fairly i'm 29 jogging around at paintings with a retainer sounding like Elmer Fudd.

I had to wait two weeks for my retainer after getting my braces off and my teeth barely moved so I think you'll be fine
