Why does Kobe Bryant have 0 Finals MVP's?

Because Shaq was dominating back then and the other two finals the Lakers lost.

Only one person has ever won a finals MVP on the losing team and thats Jerry West.

And yes, Jordan is better than Kobe.

Because Jordan was arguably the Best player of the leauge and each time they won the Finals, He was the Most Valuable player on the team. Kobe won 3 out of the 5 Finals and the MVP usually goes to the winning team. In all of those 3 Finals wins, Shaq was apart of the team and he contributed a little more, therefore he was the MVP for all three. That's why Kobe want's to win at least one more title because everybody says that he only has those titles because of Shaq.

-He played with Shaquille Oneal, the most dominant player this ERA has seen. While Kobe was just a young buck during the Lakers 3-peat.

-2 of the 5 finals he has lost, you don't get Final MVPs when your team loses.

-Jordan is better than any active player, so Jordan > ALL Active Players just to be fair. The only people that say Kobe is better than Jordan, are ignorant biased Jockers. You have nothing to prove, anybody with any type of basketball knowledge, knows that Kobe isn't on Jordan's level.

shaq was the "bigger" player at the time. he was more known than kobe, therefore he won the MVPs. i guess what i am saying is that, its about star power. and if you look at the stats, they were the same. Shaq did most of his scoring due to the play of kobe. without kobe shaq wouldn't have won, and vice versa.

Jordan never won a championship by himself, he didn't even win his first until he had help.(PIP).

oh by way, why are you even talking about MJ being better than Kobe? The only reason that ever started was because of the media. Kobe never said he was better nobody did. Well nobody important. The reason he has 0 finals MVPs is because he won 3 championships with the most dominant center to play the game in Shaq. Back then the Lakers were Shaqs team and he led them to the 3 championships.

Kobe no doubt will go down in history as one of the greatest players to play the game of basketball but in order for him to define his legacy and maybe be mentioned with Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Bird he will need to win a championship on his own, period. There is no getting around it, he needs to prove he can do it without Shaq.

Shaq was the focal point of the offense. the ball always went to him first. The triangle offense is good for the whole team and does not make Kobe a focal point.

Truth be told, Jordan did not play all that well in any of his finals appearances, he just had memorable final games. Statistically, Pip, Grant and Armstrong, even Rodman had better series. But, he was the FACE of Chicago, so he got it. Do you think when the Pistons were beating down on him in 88,89 & 90, MJ was thinking about missing out on the MVP? F that, he wanted the Rings.

Because when his team won a finals Shaq was the one who did more for his team. Now that he is gone it doesn't look like he is gonna win a finals MVP.

the media is why Jordan won everything like awards and contests. They fell in love with him. Case in point..............the dunk contest vs Dominquie. Wilkins was flat out ripped off in that contest. Jordan could run for president and win. He could start up a plumbing business and people would say he is the best plumber around. He could become a cake decorator and people would say "hey Jordan is the best decorator there is". He could trim trees for a living and it would be "hey I recommend Jordan, he has some great saws".

1) He is not overrated.Wilt was a great scorer...but Wilt was not a great Winner.

2)Jordan did win six with one of the best allaround player's(PiP).

But look at Bird or Magic's roster's when they were winning.They had 3-4 HOF on there roster and won less.Celtics had the greatest frontline ever!

3)Yes the bulls still played well! Pip had alot to do with that...bottomline they could'nt get it done.They could'nt close the deal......what seperates good from great ?..closing the deal and winning the championship.If anything you proved Pippen is underated.

sorry man (long day at work) Jordan's has 3 ring's on Bird..1 on Mag.You can't compare era's....from Clyde.Barkley,Magic(yeah he was hurt in 90),Stock/Malone to Payton/kemp he played some great teams.....anyways I don't think it's about the stats with Jordan.He had something special, I don't know exactly what ,but I know it was there.He connected to more people then any athlete ever...that's what really made him great.

He's great..the most entertaining player ever(you said it).He is a champion(second to only "the great Bill russell")he is the second greatest scorer(behind Wilt)Apealed to more people and was marketed to more people then any other ATHLETE in HISTORY!

All I meant was in order to be considered the greatest you have to be a NBA champion.Would MJ be a champion without Pip?...no.Would Magic be a champion without Kareem?..doubt it How about Bird without Parish etc... All these great players had pure skill and they were blessed to have great teamates also.With skill, love for the game and great teamates they all had a chance to become champions....and all three ,Bird,Magic and Jordan capitolized on it.......that's what seperated them from thier peers.Then Jordan seperated himself from them...when you look at his whole body of work (his winning,his legacy,his stats, but MOST! importantly who he is) he is the greatest.
