Are pre-seasoned Smithfield pork tenderloins any good? What flavor do you like best?
I've heard they are really salty. Maybe soaking it in water before cooking would help that? Mostly I'm worried about the preservative taste that some packaged pork has.
I do usually start with a fresh tenderloin from the butcher, however they are on sale this week for a really good price and was wondering if they were worth buying or would I end up wasting money because I wouldn't like it. I have had a Hormel one once (several years ago) and absolutely hated it - ended up throwing it out.
I think I just answered my own question. LOL

I have never personally had one but my mom has. They have an extremely strong flavor of whatever the marinade happens to be she said. This would be due to it sitting in the marinade for so long. If it's something like a teriyaki flavoring it has a very high chance of being salty. Soaking in whatever will only take off the marinade on the surface. There's a whole biochemical reaction that occurs where the marinade and salt and such binds to the meat. No amount of soaking is really going to be able to change that.
Even though it's a little more work, just buy a plain tenderloin and marinate it yourself. You can generally find simple recipes for marinades all over the internet, and then you also can avoid any potential preservative taste.

Two full days worth of soaking. I would rather buy fresh tenderloins and season them myself

They are pretty good. And no, they are not salty at all.
The barbecue ones are pretty good. So is the garlic and herb.
Hormel makes a version of these that are also good.
