Israel claims Iran is Germany 1939 and Russia sees it as Poland 1939 Are you ready for nuclear war?

You shouldnt believe them and here is why. Last year Olmert asked Bush for bunker-busting bombs, & permission to fly over Iraq for an attack on Iran and that request was strongly opposed by Pentagon Robert Gates, who has been retained by Obama & ultimately rejected by Bush. Reasoning: that any attack on Iran risked destabilizing Iraq. While the violence in Iraq has declined, U.S. military insists that stability remains fragile, so that Bush's concerns about the implications for Iraq of a U.S. or Israeli attack on Iran are likely to be shared by Obama. Obama is convinced that Afghanistan & Pakistan which both border Iran, constitute the true "central front in the war on terror." So now they hope to enlist Iran, with which Washington cooperated in ousting the Taliban in 2001, in helping to stabilize Afghanistan.

The importance of Iran has gained strength in just the past few weeks as Washington has scrambled to secure new supply lines into landlocked Afghanistan after a key bridge in Pakistan's Khyber Pass was destroyed by Taliban militants. Taliban were good for something after all;-P

While U.S. efforts to compensate have focused so far on the overland route through Russia and the Central Asian, a growing number of voices have noted that a much less costly and more efficient alternative route would run from Iran's southern ports into western Afghanistan. Why is Russia worse? The deal would be on Russian terms: this means Russia possibly using its own military planes to airlift the supplies, no more NATO extension, no more anti-missile shield in the Czech Republic and Poland for protection against non-existent Iranian missiles.lool

The clear priority stabilizing Southwest Asia is being given by Obama administration and the abrupt change in the rhetoric emanating from Washington about Iran – not to mention abiding concerns regarding Iran's ability to destabilize Iraq – clearly run counter to Israel's efforts to depict Tehran's nuclear program as, in Netanyahu's words, "the greatest challenge facing the leaders of the 21st century..." Obama's plans to enlist Iranian help for coalition efforts in Afghanistan and Pakistan - the US's new fronts in the "war on terror" - are likely to strike a particularly sour note in Jerusalem.

I highly doubt Russia sees Iran as anthing but a cash cow for some of the weapons materials left over from the soviet era, that can be converted to power.

Isn't there a specific UN RESOLUTION disallowing Israel from even possessing nuclear weapons? In fact didn't Israel deceive UN weapons inspectors in the past by hiding nuclear materials during the early stages of their nuclear program???

No, and the parallels are not totally similar, except for Israeli/ Bush imperialistic policies. Bush is a nutter who miprovokedperovoked a World War, but thankfully he is gone.Obama needs more back bone, however.
