Nobody cares whether the actors are hot... What does that have to do with the books.

Twilight is about an immortal vampire who instead of helping mankind decides to hook up with a high school girl

Harry Potter is about a magnificent world of amazing people who are actually doing some good in the world

What is this about Harry Potter not having love? The entire series is based on the fact that love is the most powerful magic there is

Jk Rowling is just such a better writer... Hands down without a doubt

Harry Potter, despite it being fictional, has certain elements that adds to the believability of the fictional world

Harry Potter has a plot... Twilight is just a girl and a guy chasing each other like idiots... Harry Potter is about bravery and courage and love and defeating an evil psychopath

No matter what there is always going to be an evil psychopath... The bad guys in Harry Potter are believable

both harry potter and twilight are good books and movies why cant everyone just get over this hatred? i use to hate twilight and harry potter because i never bothered to read the book or watch the movies! now ive watched all the movies 2 harry potter and read the harry series, i have now started too read twilight and let me just say twilight- book is different to the movie and i enjoy reading it!!! so this is unecessary for all this hate against a book series and its movies -(twilight) as it will always be a well know book!

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU. (Although Twilight was still fun.)

Here are my reasons:

1. There are more Harry Potter books. I love reading, so that's always a plus for me!

2. This is sort of related to your #9 - Stephenie Meyer's characters are a little flat, whereas J.K. Rowling's have such depth!

3. The balance of romance and adventure in the Harry Potter series was unbelievably better than Twilight. Twilight has too much romance.

4. The Harry Potter series ended in a more realistic way. What I mean was, there were casualties. Fred died, George got his ear cut off; Dumbledore and Sirius died. Somehow in the Twilight series, Bella ended up with everything she could have wanted - a perfect life.

5. Harry Potter books had more description. When I read J.K. Rowling's words, I could see the book taking place in my head. In Twilight, that feeling wasn't as complete.

6. The Harry Potter series can be read by both boys and girls. If there were any boys that liked Twilight, I'd have to call them gay.

7. With the Harry Potter books, you get to see Harry grow up and get more mature as the books go on. I think Bella got more immature the farther you got in the Twilight series.

8. The Harry Potter books were so rich in plot! I love how J.K.Rowling can bring even the smallest of hints back and make it the basis of an entire book, without leaving any loose ends!

9. Harry Potter is more normal. I know that sounds a little odd, considering that he's a wizard. But look at it this way: Bella doesn't really fit in with her classmates. Harry is friends with all of his. Bella ends up marrying a guy that everyone thinks is weird, thus successfully estranging herself from just about everyone in her town. Harry ends up marrying his best friend's sister, whom everyone likes.

10. J.K. Rowling can write such splendid plot lines! The tension in the books continually rises as a marvelous rate - it's perfect! And by the time you reach the climax, you can feel the tension. In the Twilight books, the climax is always a bit of a surprising, and there's hardly any rising action.

I have a million reasons. At least. So I'll just put it this way: Harry potter rules. Twilight sucks.

I totally agree with all of your statements. Every time you read Harry Potter, you learn or notice things that you didn't before. The actors are MUCH better, and, let's face it, they're british!

One other thing that makes HP so much better than Twilight is the vocabulary. J.K.Rowling uses immaculate vocabulary, while Stephenie Meyers sometimes uses repetitive.

I don't hate Twilight, but it is NOTHING compared to Harry potter! Finally, someone that actually gets it. Most of my friends that like Twilight don't even like harry potter! I don't understand how that it possible!

- HP appeals to both sexes and all ages

- HP has good role models for girls (and boys)

- HP characters are attracted to each other for more than 'she smelt really good' or 'omg marble skinnnn'

- HP characters are not super! shiny! perfect!... they're realistic

- HP promised the ultimate showdown in the finale and brought it - SM had everyone shrug and go home!
