Why has my diet change given me 10x more gas?

I have taken a 180 in my diet recently. Two weeks ago I cut out my VERY regular diet of soda and fast food and started eating MUCH better. Water, juices, broccoli, spinach, fresh meats, bananas, etc. - just overall healthier. But I have been MEGA gassy lately. I fart left and right.

What's the haps?

your body is now processing pure fiber and hard cell elements..

it's good.. soon your old feces that's built up in your colon and part of your intestines is about to break loose.. what's why we fart and have other relative gasses.

you'll get use to it.. and soon miss those farts.

keep up the good work... farting is a sign of all the detoxing going on.

ah, the wonders of fiber! when my family started eating super healthy, the house reeked!

doing a 180 in your diet will definitely cause you to get very gassy, because your body is completely unused to that quantity of fiber. you wouldn't have felt as sick if you had gradually increased fiber over time, but since you're already eating so well, i'd say go for less fibrous foods (not as much oats, apples, and other fibrous fruits) and build your way back up to your high-fiber diet. you could also just try beano and pop a pepto-bismol if your stomach hurts from all the digestive work.

Easy answer, it's the fiber and the vitamins in the food you're eating. It's VERY healthy but when your body digests it, it produces gas. It's normal, should go away when your body gets used to it. If not, just take gas-x or something like that.

It is a possibility to lose weight rapidly but you should be realistic and take on board that if you lose weight fast then you will without doubt put it all back on again just as fast. The one method that clearly showed results for me is wu-yi tea, it can be checked out in the resource box underneath, they have a small number of free trials remaining, it has been reported in Fox News and CNN. I lost thrity pounds, it clearly does work!

when you add more fiber in a very fast pace, it gives you a ton of gas. cut back on your fiber(such as the broccoli), and add it more gradually.
