Personally, I would get the iPod Touch because apple is always coming out with new generations and models and this way you will have one that won't go out of date as fast. Also, I have the Touch and there are tons of cool games to play on it. I'm obsessed!

well it depends how muc you will use it
the touch is more expensive but it can ave internet, apps, and more memory
the nano is also good: it is small, fits any where ha a decent memory and can play your movies and videos
i would recomend a nano for a 13 year old but if need need the extra memory and want it for more than music, then go wit the touch

Either one is good. However, there are a lot of compatibility issues about Ipod models. Compatibility and copyright protection stuff and then you'll have to get itunes and buy from the itune store. in other words, you'll stuck with these Apple products.
I suggest you get a ZEN creative model. I got one and all my songs in this player (about 700 of them .. and counting) are all downloaded from limewire (beta version is free and easily downloaded), Aside from that, you may want to arrange songs in a manner you want them to play (like track 1 first, track 2 second, etc. etc.)
Itunes (and you're gonna need it) arranges songs alphabetically, which may not be to your liking.
SO, if you're ok with potential problems with ipods, go ahead. i've been reading a lot of questions here (Yahoo Answers) and a lot of questions asked have been on ipod problems ..not one on a zen or other mp3 models
Source(s): i got a zen creative V, 8 gb ... 700 songs, a few hundred pictures and a couple of videos with room to spare ..hope this helps you out.
