Cooking frozen food after it has defrosted. Is the remaining food ok to go back in the fridge?

Just moved into my own place and as this question may tell you i don't have a clue about cooking.

Bought frozen fish fillets the other night, left them in the car, took them out tonight. Looked like they had defrosted so thought i'd cook them. there were four fillets altogether. I ate two. Can i put the other two in the fridge and reheat them tomorrow or the night after? Or is that a big no no.

Many Thanks

Update:

They were in the car just less than 24 hours.

If they were thoroughly cooked, then they're probably okay. The problem is that uncooked, unrefrigerated (or unfrozen) food is a playground for bacteria. While cooking the food will usually eradicate the bacteria, some forms of bacteria essentially go into protective hibernation and will re-emerge once the food's temperature drops; it's therefore best to eat the food right away and let your immune system get the critters before they can re-emerge.

you will be ok so long as they were well cooked to begin with, eat them tomorrow but no later, when you do heheat them make sure they are really hot, i dont keep anything like that for more than 2days in the fridge if your unsure in any way bin it the loss of 2 bits of fish has got to be better than 2-3 days off work and in agony cos you gave yourself food poisoning

If they had been defrosted in the fridge yes, in the car no. TOSS them! Your health is worth more than a few dollars.

ew.how long were they in the car?

normally it's ok to refrigerate food that's been defrosted and cooked, but the idea is that you cook it immediately or soon after it thawed.

Of course you can refrigerate cooked food after it's been frozen. It's called leftovers.

They should keep that long but no more than that.
