Why are video games and other media released in Japan earlier than in other continents?
It seems as if media (video games, music, etc) is always released in Japan before any other country. Also, extras (such as bonus tracks) to certain media is usually available only in Japan as well. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Japan is huge in the electronics industry, especially video games. In fact, most video games are made in japan. That's why they are released there first. That also means that they are released in Japanese language. It takes some time for the games to be translated into other languages.
