Sweet bike, expensive to replace parts.
If you're thinking of getting into racing, you'll need two different bikes, one for riding and one for racing. The KTM would be an awesome street bike, but I'd get something cheaper for racing - first you'll need to figure out what class you'll be racing in, then choose the bike.
If you've never raced before, you're NOT going to start out on a big bike, usually you'll want the 600 or even smaller class.

Races are based around series, there is a Super Duke race series in the UK and Germany

but outside that series you are going to find it difficult to find races you can enter it in, it won't be competitive in a supermoto race.
