Is Obama promoting "fear itself?" Unlike FDR saying "all we have to fear is fear itself?"?

Why does he keep promoting how bad the economy is?

Is it a partisan issue?

Is he still a candidate or a leader?

Does he want to avoid responsibility if he blows it?

Do we need a leader that Inspire us, or a coach that tells us how much we screwed up in the first half of the game?

I have been reading his speeches. The striking thing is that he keeps referring to the 'crisis' as if it was the end of the world, and referring to its cause as Bush, as though no other politician had anything to do with it. Then after inciting fear and desperation in the public, he gives vague and evasive solutions to his so called 'Bush crisis'. I see it as pure partisan politics and him already preparing his defense for his inevitable failure.

Because it is bad and we must act in unprecedented ways to keep things from getting worse. He does it to get yahoos like the Republicans on board for a fix. Of course the reason Republicans aren't playing ball is that they hate Obama. They know the majority Democrats will get do what is needed, and they can pretend they're not voting for socialism instead of what they are doing - preferring to see the country go down the tubes rather than work with the other side to solve or at least mitigate the worst economic crises in 80 years.

Because the US economy IS that bad. Or haven't you noticed? The US mess is dragging the rest of the world with it, due to US bankers peddling worthless paper everywhere.

And exactly how did GWB inspire anyone with his constant saber rattling, and complete disregard for what was going on at home?

Even Bill Clinton said he should lighten up on the fear factor, the first thing Clinton has ever said I agree with. All it's doing is creating panic in an already volatile atmosphere. I don't need him to keep reminding me how bad it is!

Of course he is. How else could his ill-fated anti-American agendas get a foothold. If you listen to the language, how it changes, you can clearly hear the game he's playing.

Obama is promoting fear, as did GWB. The chicken little approach has proven to be pretty effective at stirring up the masses these days. Why change a formula that works?

Obama is promoting himself. He wants to be the most known person in the Country. He has a bunch of website - twitter, myspace, youtube, facebook, and about 15 .gov websites.

Because it (the economy) is bad

Parisian only if you are an American and wish to survive

He is a leader the campaigning ended a while ago

"You" had better hope he does not "blow it".

If you are not inspired, you must be a republican, the screw up has been going on for eight years. Please do not expect things to be fixed up over night.

It's just like the recession after 9/11....

Bush was positive and told people to go back to work, and go back to their normal lives......and guess what?

    The recession ended VERY quickly.

It's obvious now, that Obama wants this recession to be prolonged as long as possible, so that he can create more bloated bureaucracies.

Hell yes. He's promoting fear with more tenacity that Don King used to promote boxing matches.
