iTunes ID3 tag problems...?

This has been happening more and more often lately, and I'm not sure why.

After I import an album into iTunes, sometimes I decide to change the genre, or fix an error in the spelling of a song title.

However, as soon as I play one of these songs, it reverts to its original spelling.

Why would playing a song cause its ID3 tags to change back to whatever state they were in when they were initially imported?

Or am I the only one with this problem?

Well, I had a similar problem with Windows Media Player 11. In my case, it had something to do with how the original file was titled, and so on. Thing is, this was one of the reasons I switched to iTunes. Other than that, I'll see what I can find.
