Why do I get pain in my fingers After.....?

I us sledgehammers, splitting mauls, axes, or large bush knives. pretty much anything heavy that i have to grip and swing. Also lifting anything heavy with my fingers.

It was ok but it's been getting worst, it's only in my fingers.

what happens in after say i split some wood i put the maul down my fingers will be locked like i were still holding the maul's handle. I then have to bend them back out with my other hand . Then I'm able to move them like normal. By the way I'm 20 if you need to know.

Any Idea what is behind this would be great. Detail would be nice.

Update:

It is more a stiffness maybe I don't know. I don't think it's muscle, But if i did know I wouldn't have asked. I think it's the joints in my fingers them-self as for my weight... This is no joke I can't gain. It's something i got from my mother and she got from her parents and so on.

I've had this thing in my fingers my whole life. At first I never really thought about it. But after some time i noticed not everyone gets it.

As for oil in what i eat well i cook for myself most the time. I'll use a little here and there.

How about lubricating factors in your diet? Fats and oils, specifically. If you are going to be a big manly stud and swing heavy dangerous objects around like you should be doing, you're going to need a big manly diet full of fatty steaks and the like. Butter your toast extra next time. Have you lost a lot of weight lately? I've heard that weight loss can cause stiff fingers in men. Maybe they needed more fats and oils!

I wasn't joking at all! You're the bomb, in my opinion...
