I have had a few Western Digital drives and only 1 Seagate. I have never had a problem with my Seagate but it could just be by chance. One of my WD drives crapped out but it was old and probably worn out. So I guess with my experience I would go with Seagate because its been running for years, very fast, very reliable.

Both are solid drive manufacturers. Just make sure you don't buy the crap from Best Buy with one year warranty. Seagate's standard warranty is 5 years WD's is 3 years but you can get some WD's with 5 year warranty. I like em both.

    Whichever is cheaper.

Seagate does have a longer warranty, though.
