When I boot my computer up, it beeps and reads "No booting software found." What should I do?

I don't know exactly what it says...I can't remember, but each time I boot up my laptop it says "No booting software/programs found." Is there anything I can do to fix it? What could be the problem?

you should have a cd software to boot it or when you start your computer click like F10 or something like that to boot your computer. Good Luck

Without an exact message it is hard to say, but I would try removing any floppy disk from the drive, and if that does not do it, boot to the repair console and execute the fixboot and or fixmbr commands. This will often get the computer to boot if there has been some damage to the hard drive, but it is still readable - or it is still spinning.

If you do not have the repair console installed it can be access from the XP CD

that means you don't have an os program on. (os being operating system). every computer has a booting program on it, that's one of the base things that a computer needs to work. no os, your computer might as well be a paperweight.

that said, how on earth did it manage to get wiped off? oO
