some good scrubbing, something soapy, to remove, and then something with an oily residue so it doesnt crack and fade.

Por rubbing alcohol and sprinkle salt and scrub with a sponge. If there are nonetheless lines of the stain then grab a tube of whitening toothpaste for ink on partitions, tables and such.
