You need to do a lot of phonics (sounds) and letter recognition. I taught ESL to 1-4th graders and we did a lot of singing (phonics songs mostly) it helps them with pronunciation, reading the language, etc. You will need flashcards or pictures with common words/items on it. Good luck!

Articulate parents who pronounce the name correctly. And just like teaching them anything else, correct innocent mistake of youngsters in a caring but firm manor. You don’ really think that the 4 year olds are trying to say he is a terrorist do you? All his/her life people has been saying “Osoma” now people are also saying Obama and the two sound an awful lot alike. Since Obama is his last name you might want to insist they say “Mr. Obama” when referring to the politician and “Osoma Bin-Laden” when referring to the bad man who hurts people. And if that does not work try the taser method suggested earlier. :)
