Huevo's band of the day?

Based out of Boston, the Drop Nineteens dropped only 2 full length albums, Delaware ( great album) and National Coma (meh, not so good). Along with fellow countrymen The Lilys, they served as American contributors to the shoegazing scene.

So what are your opinions? Aye, nay or somewhere in-between? The second clip, Kick The Tragedy, was one of my favorites back in the 90's. I could get lost in it for days. And the 3rd one, Angel, is an interesting cover of the Madonna song. And yes, the first one is a tribute to my ultimate 90's crush and favorite kleptomaniac, Ms. Ryder.

BQ: Favorite shoegazing band besides My Bloody Valentine?

Update:

Hey Darth, glad you enjoyed all the clips. And it's not sad, you blow me away with your knowledge in so many other categories.

Update 2:

Man, I feel like stepped into a fantasy role-playing game with all the trolls lurking around here.

Update 3:

Hey Emily, long time no see. Glad you liked it.

Update 4:

Hey Captain, it does hook you right at the start.

I really liked it. I thought "Kick The Tragedy" was awesome. I was caught into it right away and just blew right through. The others were interesting as well. I think they could be a band that I could get into. With most shoegazing bands, I have to concentrate on the music and make an effort the first couple times listening to get a gist of the song, but it wasn't so with them. Thanks, Huevo.

BQ: I'm not where I want to be with this genre, listening wise. But, right now I'd say A Place to Bury Strangers are my favorite.

Awesome selection, Huevo; definitely a huge 'aye' from me. "Kick the Tragedy" was my favorite by far. I'm on my 3rd listen right now and I think I, too, could get lost floating in it for days. There's something the about rhythmic, repetitive distortions I can't get enough of. I also really liked the vocals on all the songs, especially on"Angel." Lovely, lovely band. I bookmarked them for sure. Thanks again, Huevo!

BA: Slowdive (I've gotten lost in them for months, lol).

I had never heard them before which isn't a surprise as I am woefully unfamiliar (sadly) with the whole genre. However I did like the sound of all three songs with "Kick The Tragedy" being My fave.

I also posted a comment to all three.

Hey Huevo, so many Genres, so little time, and thanks Dude.
