Which do you prefer: English English or American English?

I much prefer American English because we did away with a lot of unnecessary letters.

Update:

I can't understand British movies either. I need to turn on the subtitles.

Update 2:

I'll admit that I like the way that "colour" and "favourite" are spelled.

harrygarry99... you are very ignorant human being. It's a different dialect, GENIUS.

I started learning the Queen's English as a child living in Europe and use that in writing even though I speak American English.

British English often has the better (sound more educated and cooler) pronunciations (ex. fyootile in british vs. fyootal in US), but english spellings are much more logical. And if any more of you tea-drinkers say that you spell words right, you're wrong. American English spellings are correct in the way that modern English spellings are correct, despite being changed in modern times from Old English. If you want to do one of those then Germans could assert that you AND us spell words wrong. Proper American English is at least as viable. Anyhow, British spellings are often hideously ugly to see or hear, case in point: learnt. It may technically be correct but it sounds atrocious. I prefer German over them both though; its grammar, pronunciation, and spelling(including forming words) follow much more logical rules. Oh and before anyone says anything, German is not an Ugly language. Go to Germany (NOT BAVARIA, DEAR GOD DO NOT GO TO BAVARIA) and listen to native speakers having normal conversations, then we'll talk.

p.s. Most Americans have terribly disgusting accents that irritate to no end. Come on guys you're making us look bad. Case in point: GWB

Source(s): Alright pink haired avatar girl. You're a typical condescending, ignorant Briton. American English in no way resembles texting when spoken properly. Granted, a very small portion of the population can speak and spell properly because education is but a hobby in America. Go have tea time you scullery maid.
