Definitely go with Verizon Wireless! The prices just got better because of the merger with Altel and the new Friends and Family option. On a single line plan, you can choose 5 non-Verizon numbers, including landlines and call them unlimited! You'll still have your night and weekends and mobile to mobile. At&t has nothing like it. Verizon has Nation Wide Select plans that include Unlimited to anyone texting. These plans are only $20 more on single line plans, or $30 more for Family Share plans. Or, if you don't need unlimited texting, you can just add one of the smaller text bundles. $5 gets you 250 mssgs. $10 gets 500 mssgs + Unlimited Verizon to Verizon texting. $15 gets you 1500 + Unlimited Verizon to Verizon texting, and $20 gets you 5000 + Unlimited Verizon to Verizon texting.

They actually have almost identical price plans so here's some things to look at:

    1) Are the majority of the people you talk to (your friends, family, significant other, etc.) on either one of these networks? Because both include mobile to mobile so you can choose a smaller (and cheaper) minute package since you won't waste your minutes on these calls. If they are scattered about on a variety of carriers you may want to consider the new Friends and Family plan that Verizon offers where you can pick 5 numbers not on Verizon that you call the most and you won't use your minutes.

    2) Are you planning on going overseas? Almost all AT&T phones work overseas, but very few Verizon phones do.

    3) What kind of phone do you want? Obviously certain carries have exclusive phones to them so that could limit your choice, but there are other considerations. For example, if you'd like to utilize the organizer on the smart phone, but don't plan to go online or get e-mail you would have to choose AT&T over Verizon.

Best suggestion I can give you to help narrow down the carrier that's right for you is to go to a place that offers them both (like an independent phone retailer or a store like Best Buy). They will be less interested in which carrier you choose and more interested in making sure you are happy so you purchase a phone (and don't come back and return it).

They have pretty much the same prices except that Verizon has a Nationwide Unlimited calling plan and At&t does not but Verizon has wayyy better service,Prices, customer service and bars in more places so I would go with Verizon if your trying to save money.

I'd go with ATT because anywhere you go you'll have bars. Plus I own one and I have not had any problems and the price is very good I pay about $87.26(all together with my kids(3) for my bills. So yea I'd recommend ATT more bars in more places...
