I've baked the cake, it rises well, but it has a loose texture.?

Just followed the recipe well, uses all ingredients told in the recipe EXCEPT for pecans, i've substituted it with cashew nuts. Does this can lead to my problem, which is, it rises up well but has a lot of holes and a loose textures in it.

Sounds like it was over baked. You may have used the correct temperature setting on your oven dial, but maybe your oven cooks at a higher temp. I would invest in a simple oven thermometer to see the temperature your oven actually gets too. This is common, because ovens vary in temperature.

If that is not the problem, then maybe it's your recipe. I don't see the nut change making that much of a difference. Try a different recipe.

there might be an excessive amount of holes in it possibly due to over mixing the batter.
