Race doesn't exist. Ethnicity is where you're from basically. And everyone thinks race is what color you are. But that's ethnicity. There is virtually no biological difference between a black person and an asian person excset for their ethnicity.

According to the dictionary:
Ethicity: 1. ethnic traits, background, allegiance, or association.
Race: 1. a group of persons related by common descent or heredity.
Just think of it this way. An ethnic group tends to have the same language, names, religion, territory, etc.
A race on the other hand are people who are genetically close and nothing more.

Race is a socially constructed concept that groups people into different categories depending on their phenotype (physical expression of genes), particularly skin color.
Ethnicity is the culmination of genetic ancestral heritage possessed by an individual.

race; caucasian, indigenous african, mongoloid, and many people are a mixture. but there is really only one race; the human race.
ethnicity; where your ancestors are from. for example, italian, french, ethiopian, chinese, filipino, etc.
and then you have nationality, which is where you are born regardless of your race or ethnicity.
