Why did it take 4yrs before Juan Manuel Marquez gave Manny Pacquiao a rematch after their 1st bout?

after nearly losing to pacquiao in their first meeting and suffering three knock downs in the first round. marquez and his handlers didnt want a piece of manny. in fact, marquez said manny did not deserve the rematch as they have already fought and he had nothing more to prove.

truth of the matter, the reason why pacquiao went after barrera and morales instead of marquez is marquez's reluctancy to fight pacquiao. since marquez wont fight him for a title, he went on to fight other fighters.

when marquez lost to barrera, marquez wasnt expecting to lose. but he did lose that one. after that loss to barrera, marquez stock fell and the only viable fight for him then was with pacquiao.

marquez agreed to give pacquiao a rematch when he was no longer champion. weird huh? but thats the truth. they avoided pacquiao and they have every reason to do so.

now the tables are turned and they are the ones who want the rematch. and if i were pacquiao, id make them wait too.

Marquez wanted more money and Top Rank wouldn't give in. Eventually since Marquez made more of a name for himself and Pacquiao beating all the other Mexican fighters except for Marquez, the fight was more of a draw and Marquez was able to receive the money he deserved.

Marquez wanted more money, Pacquiao wanted rematch....

when rematch was not there, he had fights with the other two legend...

when he beat them, and made an even bigger name for him, marquez wanted to fight him again...

Also, Manny was pretty much occupied on a trilogy with Erik Morales. Which almost took 3 years along with tune up fights against Velasquez & Larios in between those trilogy fights.
