NBA Poll: Should the Lakers have gone to the Hack-A-Shaq move today?
It certainly would have taken Shaq out of the game towards the end and helped the Lakers reduce the lead.
Do you think it was ethical to do that? lol, just throwing it out there.
BQ: Cavs vs Hawks, last call thoughts?
STAR if you like :) STAR if you don't like :(
I thought it made the Lakers look really bad, but the way Shaq was tearing us up today, I really hoped we could take him out of the game. haha oh well, I guess we did lose the right way.

Nah that's cheap. You guys lost the right way.
BQ: No complains here! :)
Edit: You know what made Cleveland look bad? Odom getting every offensive rebound and scoring. BOX OUT! omg.

It's perfectly ethical, but I don't think it would have been a good call. Shaq was having a good shooting night and stroking the ball pretty well. Hack-a-Shaq fails unless the guy you foul hits less then 50% of his shots. Shaq was 7-12 from the line. The other objective of the Hack is to make the player uncomfortable by forcing him to make free throws when he doesn't want to. As well as Shaq was playing, I don't think sending him to the line would have fazed him. It would probably just piss him off and make him play better.

Even if the Lakers did Hack a Shaq, Shaq is doing a little better than normal with his free throws, so it's not quite as effective this year to do it...

Shaq was shooting over 60% with his free-throws. It would've slowed the Suns offense down however, but I doubt Shaq will miss as much as he used to. In terms with ruining his game, I agree that it might've, but don't forget that he is also a passing player now. If he sees the foul coming, he'll just pass it to the perimeter.

Have you seen Shaq shoot free-throws? He has been making shots lately. We shouldn't be cheap using Shaq. We have to lose the right way.

I freakin HATE hack-a-shaq. It does work but its stupid and dumb and takes away from the game. Its like a short cut and I think its cheatin, but hey it works for the freakin Spurs.
I didn't think anything of the last call, I mean it wasn't as bad of a call then what Lebron got in Indian with .1 second on the clock. Now that was Absolutely a bad call. This one was just ok

I hate this stupid strategy. Somehow Shaquille O Neal ends up making like 70% of the shots when he is put in this position. It makes the game very boring and ultimately ends up hurting the opposing team. NO i don't think that Phil should have gone with that strategy.

nah shaq was shooting too good at the free throw line to put the game in that strategy

No! That's boring... Besides I think the Lakers thought they could be the Suns without that tactic.

I don't think it would've mattered. He was still hitting free throws. Big Man's been on a tear lately.
