What would you be without your "thoughts"?
Does what you think have any bearing on what you are?

We would be empty vessels open to receive guidance from All That Is without the intrusion of ego's thought system that separates us from the One. We would operate (co-operate/co-create) flawlessly as directed by Source in perfect harmony with the Whole, each "part" or form fulfilling its unique role.
Imagine all parts of the machine functioning in perfect attunement to one another, each supporting and enhancing the other, without "thoughts" of competition, judgment, fear, anger, rejection, jealousy, etc. Human thought (ego) separates, obstructs, diverts, and obscures our purpose as perfect expressions of God/Source/All That Is.
It is we who have formed these thoughts and then are trapped in a foggy forgetfulness that they are not real, but only projections of our own fears and anxieties for having created the illusion of separation from one another and from our source. We must "think again" (re-pent) and realize that we are not our thoughts, but that we are God's thoughts manifested for His/Her sole expression.

When I am free of thought I am alert, in love and in alive peace. Thoughts are so small and limiting in comparison.
To be without thought does not necessarily mean to be in a state before thought as are animals. It can mean to have gone beyond identification with thought to a space of simple intelligent aware presence.
One does not think; one is aware of thoughts arising in the field of awareness. Thinking just happens.
The thoughts that arise have absolutely no bearing on who one is. The thoughts one attaches a sense of identity to only have bearing on the content of ego. The bundle of thoughts and emotional attachments that is who many think they are is a false sense of self. Who we are is found only once we dis-identify with that small and limiting bundle of thoughts.

Yes, indeed our thoughts have great bearing on who we are.

Without thoughts (in language), I'd have a cleaner psyche, pure sense impressions and conscious awareness, with a keener appreciation for living as one of God's beings.
Thoughts only make me enculturated, in some "human culture", encoded with its language, its values, its biases and prejudices and unhappiness. Thoughts make the Ego what it is, which is mostly selfish, neurotic, miserable, anxious, afraid, and driven to escapes like television, sex, drugs and alcohol. What we admire in our family pets is what we could have and be as well, if we'd give up our fascination with thinking.
Lakely is correct. It's not theory for me. A mind blank of thoughts in sentences is pure and happy. Light.

I believe thought as the mother of every action. As there would be no one existing in this world without her. So would every human being will perish without a thought.

This really is a great question.
Thoughts do not make you. It is the light behind the thoughts that makes you. Click on my avatar if you want an explanation for this answer.

I would be fully present, fully conscious, and truly volitional and thus, truly effective and efficient and content in every endeavor--instead of being a reactive mass of mental chatter, conflicting emotions, artifice, and habits and conditioning.
