Hawks beat the Wizards after a rough night at the airport?
I know we kicked out Eddie Jordan after we lost to the Knicks with only seven or eight dressed players... Well, body-wise the Hawks were fine. but from what I heard on the radio on the way back from Verizon Center, the Hawks didn't get to the DC airport until SIX AM this morning from Cleveland. At 6 AM, that's when the last of our large snow bands hit here... We got the big snow storm that slammed Alabama, and Atlanta and it hit us yesterday into today. So in other words, the Hawks had a rough night last night and were groggy from the commute. They were rusty today, especially in the first half, and we should have beaten them. Almost any other team would. At least Kudos to the Hawks for keeping focus on the task at hand, especially after a rough loss to the LeBrons yesterday which was a winnable game. And also another unexcusable loss for Washington. Even without Butler, the Wizards or any other team should be able to soundly beat a team that is obviously tired and played a bit out of sync in the first half. I'm real frustrated by this one...
Anyone from Atlanta know if the team even got much sleep after getting to the airport? That I'd like to know.
The Hawks played Cleveland at home in Atlanta, not on the road. So that makes the groggyness and victory for JJ, Horford, and the gang even more remarkable I guess. They flew out of Hartsfeld-Jackson to Dulles from one snowy city to another in all those delays. Sure maybe some players slept at the gate, but sleeping at an airport isn't 10% as good as sleeping on a bed.

That's impressive, but Atlanta is a young and athletic team. Funny thing is that the Cleveland "LeBrons" were stuck at the airport too due to ice. They arrived at Miami early this morning. They played their fourth game in five nights on the road against playoff contenders. Cavs still had the energy to pull out a comeback victory against Miami.
And everybody really needs to stop calling the Cavaliers the "LeBrons", because first of all that gives to much credit to LeBron. The Cleveland Cavaliers are on fire this season, and don't forget what the Cavs have done to the WASHINGTON WITNESSES over the past three years in the playoffs.
