where are the mesenger archives kept ?
are the sessions kept by yahoo or in our own PCs. If so, if you have to re-install window, is all that information lost?

Hello Innocence Lost, You can find it on your yahoo messenger window. Pull up your yahoo messenger window, at the top of that window you will see (Messenger-Contact-Action-Help) You would click on "Contact" scroll down and you will see 'Messenger Archives' click there and follow directions. The default settings are that your chats will not be saved.
You can change that if you want to.
And if you already save your chats,then open a person's chat window,and click on "show recent messages"
then at the top you'll be able to see something like "view full archive"..and you'll be able to see all your chats with that person.
and if you want to save your chats from now on,go to messenger-preferences-archive

yes,you can get your messenger archives even when you're on a different computer. the computer doesn't matter..it just has to be your id-
