how long have the fires been burning in Victoria ?
when were the first of the fires that have devastated victoria this year reported?

They have been going strong since February 7th. Yesterday there was smoke and dust over Melbourne but a cool change brought us some well needed rain. The fires however are still not out and will probably go on for another few weeks until the cooler Autumn weather arrives.
