1997 Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6: tips/pointers/checks? Picking up tomorrow?

Before any one gets in there with "shouldn't have bought a Ford" jokes, I've already done it!

100 000 miles on the clock. Manual transmission.

Any owners/enthusiasts with any general advice or things to check? I have minimal mechanical knowledge.

I've heard Bosch +4 Spark Plugs are good for this car.

I'm going to get the oil and oil filter changed because I've heard that's important.

Any thing I should check apart from the obvious "service" type parts?

Many thanks, Glenn

If it runs rough, it's likely to be due to the spark plugs: The V6 engine uses long life plugs which should be changed at 40,000 miles or more, but many people don't bother as to change the rear bank of plugs you have to remove the upper intake manifold & rebuild with new gaskets.

I've seen people scrap these cars as they've been told that they had an engine management or other fault. Virtually guaranteed sorted with new plugs - don't buy cheap ones though.

    Car workshop manuals for download?

So, you’ve got a porsche, you want the workshop manuals for download, so you go to a search engine, say search.dogpile.com and search for Porsche Workshop Manuals downloads and the search engine gives you back … The comp.lang.javascript FAQ. Google does a better job, javascript FAQs only come in at 13 with them - maybe I should start selling car workshop manuals?
