Air fresheners, always flowery?

Why doesn't some of the air freshener company's make products that don't always smell like flowers? I know they make apples and cinnamon scented stuff, but who wants to use that anywhere but the kitchen. Why don't they make spice scented products????

I hate flowery smelling stuff.

Wasn't sure where to post this.

I prefer vanilla for that exact reason and it's a little too sweet smelling sometimes. I don't really know anyone that likes the flower smelling stuff and don't know where the manufacturers get the idea that everyone wants their homes and cars to smell like fresh flowers. I personally like the smell of the original Lysol spray, but you can't even buy it these days. Everything you buy anymore has Febreze in it...YUCK......enough already.......Let's write the air freshener people and tell them to get some REAL people to try their products and give their opinions.....

I feel your pain. Every time they come out with a scent I like, it gets discontinued. They either smell like flowers, food, or dryer sheets.

Glade used to have a cinnamon one that was really nice (NOT cinnamon apple; just cinnamon), and one called Mountain Heather that was soft and a little spicy, but they're gone. I really like the Glade Scented Oil Spiced Rose, which is more spice than rose, but I have a hard time finding it and am afraid it's being discontinued. The "fresh" and "linen" and "rain" scents smell like Bounce and make be want to gag.

So I have no answer to your question, but certainly can empathize.

Yeah! What eyJude said. Here's the contact link for Glade http://www.scjbrands.com/contact/

I have seen some at places like yankee candle co. that smell like clean laundry. The one called Clean Cotton is wonderful....

Glade also makes one called Clean Laundry or something like that. I have it in my kitchen and it makes the whole downstairs smell pleasant, like I'd been cleaning.

Hehehe, you can always say you want to be polite to your guests by purchasing non-annoying scents for your home, that would make this an Etiquette question, so problem solved :D

Walk into any Yankee Candle store. They have all kinds of air fresheners, not just candles. Their plug is fresheners last a long time, and smell really great.

BTW, I use plain cinnamon scented fresheners all over my house. It is unoffensive to most people.

  • They're not all flowery but most of them are. Some scents that aren't flowery - Glade's Cinnamon and Clean Linen.

    Clean Linen is my favorite!

Air fresheners are awful...chemicals dont smell good end of story....buy oils...like lemon balm oil from your nearest herbal or beauty shop...smear it on light bulbs, radiators or get an oil burner...natural plant based scents that smell clean and not manufactured...air freshners are proven to be bad for children to breathe.

They do make other scents. Some smell like clean cotton or sea breezes and all kinds of others.

I have some ocean breeze ones, and in the winter I had a holiday spice one for my room. Just look in the store, they have a ton of them, and I'm positive they aren't alllll flowery.
