I'm thinking about getting Resident Evil 5?

Alright, I love the RE series and I'm going to try to summarize every game very briefly.

RE1: Pick between Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. It is a 3rd person shooter where you are looking at yourself from a bird's eye view (or as if you're looking at yourself from a camera posted on the wall of the current room you're in). There were a number of murders in Raccoon City that showed proof of cannibalism, so Special Forces Bravo team investigated. After Bravo Team disappeared, Alpha Team was sent in to continue the investigation. The only thing that was found from Bravo Team was their helicopter and a severed hand. They search the site for clues and are attacked by a pack of dogs, which ends up forcing the team into a nearby mansion. After being rushed into the mansion, you hear a gunshot and go to investigate. After investigation, you find a member of Bravo Team being eaten by zombies - DUN DUN DUN! After killing the zombie, you continue throughout the mansion through tedious puzzles and running back and forth and killing zombies and being introduced into stronger/newer zombies throughout the game. You eventually discover that there were illegal experiments carried out on the property by the Umbrella Corporation and the zombies and monsters are a result of the experiments in the mansion. After running back and forth throughout the mansion, you discover a tunnel that leads to an underground laboratory where one of your members (Wesker) releases Tyrant T-002. The Tyrant impales Wesker as you run to the helipad. You then fight the monster at the helipad and Vickers drops a Rocket Launcher from the helicopter that you use to finally destroy the creature and escape as the mansion explodes.

RE2: This game follows the same Camera-in-the-corner form of gameplay as RE1 does. The game starts off with you deciding if you want to play as Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield (Chris Redfield's sister) in Raccoon City. Leon Kennedy is reporting to Raccoon City Police Department for his first day on the job and Claire is looking for information on her missing brother. After wandering through the streets of Raccoon City, they both quickly realize that the city is overrun by zombies. Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy end up running into eachother on their attempted escape from the zombie infestation. They fight their way to a police vehicle and attempt to drive to the RPD (Raccoon Police Department). On their way to the RPD, a man that was stopping by a gas station to get something was bitten by a zombie and drove away on his semi. The man then began to become zombified and lost control of the vehicle, which ended up crashing into the vehicle Claire and Leon were in, seperating the two by means of blazing inferno vehicle that clogged the entire street. They both remeet at the RPD and discover a woman and child. Ada Wong is the woman and Sherry Birkin is the child. If you play as Claire, you discover the nuisance known as Sherry Birkin, and if you play as Leon, you discover the woman known as Ada Wong. The two heroes soon learn that Claire's brother had escaped to Europe in an attempt to stop Umbrella's illegal experiments. The heroes escape the RPD by means of dropping into the sewer system where they find Sherry's mother, Annette. Annette explains that the outbreak in Raccoon city was accidental and that Sherry's father had actually injected himself with the virus and turned into a monster with the goal of implanting the G-Virus into Sherry. Also, the heroes quickly discover that Ada is a spy (to follow the RE way). The heroes fight their way into yet another underground Umbrella laboratory where Umbrella was producing the G and T virus. They become under heavy attack by many enemies, including William Birkin (Sherry's father) who succeeds in his goal to infect Sherry with the virus which then sends you on another long search for the cure for the virus. Annette (Sherry's mother) attempts to kill Claire on her search for the cure for the virus, but her plan is foiled via death from William Birkin Munster. Realizing, that she (Annette) is retarded in trying to stop Claire, explains to Claire how to setup the cure to save her daughter and then dies. While Claire is looking for the cure, Ada and Leon are forced against the T-103 (William Birkin) whom throws Ada off the side of the platform to her apparant death. After acquiring the cure for the virus, and scaring off William Birkin, the two (Leon and Claire) return to the area that Sherry is and activate the self-destruct button to destroy the lab. They escape on a train with Sherry and give her the cure via .5ml IM INJ. Unfortunately, that would make the game too short and not cliche if they were to escape so easily, so William Birkin decides to make a final appearance as a blob. To destroy William Birkin once and for all, the heroes activate a self-destruct mechanism on the train they were escaping on and escape the explosion on the train that was used to escape the explosion that is caused by them escaping the lab to escape the sewers to escape the RPD to escape Raccoon City. Then, the game ends.

RE3: This game also uses the same old Camera in the difficult to see myself or zombies form of view. This game actually takes place 24 hours before RE2 (for the first half) and 2 days after RE2 (the second half), but also in Raccoon City. You take the role of heroine Jill Valentine again. The game takes place with Jill attempting to escape Raccoon City (the apparant only city to be infected with the virus) and survive. Jill is the last remaining STARS member (Special Forces type people) that you know of until she runs into Brad Vickers who is running around frantically from Zombies (Brad Vickers = Special Forces Stud) and saves him from a couple of zombies. Brad, who is injured, tells Jill that there is no escape for STARS members: "he's after S.T.A.R.S. members, there's no escape!".

And to follow the characters before her, Jill decides to escape to the RPD. She encounters Brad who also decided to escape to the RPD, only to see him get impaled through the face by the creature he mentioned before, named Nemesis. Nemesis then attacks Jill Valentine (which opens the game up to a new dodge-like feature and decision making feature). Jill escapes him and runs through the RPD and escapes him two more times and decides that downtown Raccoon City would probably be a wiser choice than the outskirts. Jill runs into Carlos (Mercenary for Umbrella Company) and doesn't trust him, obviously because he works for Umbrella. Nemesis attacks again. Carlos saves Jill from Nemesis, and like most other naive people in horror movies and games, she begins to trust him. All-knowing Carlos, let's Jill know that there is an escape route for the mercenaries in case the plan/mission that he is on now fails. The amazing plan to escape Raccoon city is to use a safe-house tram to travel through fire and zombie and monster alike, to a clock tower that a helicopter will land on top of once the clock bell rings. Jill is introduced to the mercenary family (Nicholai and Mikhail, who is injured). So now, looking at the game and noting that the game is only one disc long this time, you think the game will be shorter. Unfortunately, when you reach the tram, it doesn't work. So you (the woman wielding the pistol) and Carlos are sent out to find resources for the tram and leave the Mercenaries with submachine guns and shotugns behind. To make the came fall into the other two's deep footsteps, you gather the materials and begin to make an escape on the tram but come under attack by the Nemesis again. Mikhail sacrifices himself by detonating a grenade that destroys himself, pushes the Nemesis off the tram, and throws the tram onto it's side. Luckily, the tram had JUST reached the clock tower and falls into the outside wall. The remaining heroes rush to the top of the clock tower and solve another puzzle for the mastermind architect that created every building and sculpture throughout Raccoon City, to ring the bell clock tower bell. The helicopter begins to land, but the Nemesis pulls a rocket launcher from his purse and shoots the helicopter down. Angry and menopausal, Jill and Carlos fight the Nemesis and end up defeating him by shooting his rocket launcher which causes it to explode and set the Nemesis on fire. Finally, after thousands of zombie bites, crow pecks, and dog attacks, Jill becomes infected (much like Sherry Birkin). Carlos runs to the hospital to produce a cure (much like Claire Redfield) and synthesizes a vaccine. Carlos encounters another random Squad Member that wasn't introduced until this very second who is silenced by Nikolai which makes it evident that Nikolai is a traitor trying to hide hide Umbrella's tracks. Nikolai attempts to kill Carlos (much like Annette trying to kill Claire as she is collecting the vaccine). Carlos narrowly escapes the C4 that destroys the hospital, and runs to save Jill. Jill and Carlos run to the park to find some way of escape. They find a random hut inside the park and decide to enter it. They discover a dead body with a bullet-wound to the head. Jill still doesn't know about the treachery of Nikolai because she thought it was alright for two mercenaries to head out and only one return. Jill reads a note saying that Raccoon City will be destroyed by the US Government. A transmission comes in through the radio saying to terminate the mission and Nikolai appears out of nowhere Metal Gear Solid Snake style and attempts to kill Jill, but runs away when a Gravedigger worm begins to dig underneath the two. After being saved by the worm, Jill goes Old Yeller and kills the worm. The worm revealed a path to... another underground laboratory... This laboratory was used as a waste disposal for Umbrella. They discover a helipad with a chopper and Carlos and Jill make their escape.

Resident Evil 5 will release on Mar 13, 2009.Resident Evil 4 is a good game and I think Resident Evil 5 will be good too.

well the first ones came out in playstation one so the graphics weren't so great but the game was cool then they started with number two and all those fallowed by like resident evil out break 1 and 2 and dead aim witch you could play with a guncon and like veronica x yeah i'm definitely going to buy this game i wish the came out with more zombie games for the ps3

get the game! the game is to get 10 out of 10 and a five stare rating. it has co-op and it is like gears 2 as a lot of people say. All the games have a really good story line and its fun to just have a bunch of people coming after you and its a tense game.
